No greenery, I assumed. Certainly not this. I turned a corner in the old city and stopped where I stood. A wall of bougainvillea, dense and completely unhurried about it, had taken over an ancient sandstone structure entirely. The stone looked older than anything I could place. The flowers looked like they had always been there.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003eThe contrast didn't feel decorative. It felt almost defiant, all that colour insisting on itself against all that weathered stillness. I stayed longer than I meant to. I had to honour the moment somehow, so I could keep returning to it.\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cbr\u003e\u003c\/p\u003e\n\u003cp\u003e\u003cem\u003eThis photograph exists in an edition of 15.
