One of my earlier works begun as a simple study of how pigments move on wet paper.

No landscape was planned. I followed the water and the colour, watching for interesting textures. Somewhere along the way, a mountain-scape appeared. Morning mist, a rising sun just beginning to make itself known. I did not lead it there, I simply followed.

The colours settled into something that has stayed with me, a quiet reverence, like an echo you feel before you hear it.
