Kumbhalgarh doesn't give itself to you easily. The climb is steep, the fort is vast, and the Great Wall of India, which weaves through the entire structure like something alive, keeps revealing itself in fragments the higher you go.
I had been stopping at intervals, watching the way the tall walls broke the sunlight into long, shifting shadows. That play of light and dark had me completely. I wasn't looking for a single frame. I was just walking, following the light.
And then I saw it. A small seating spot, carefully carved, sitting quietly while the sun built a frame around it. Light falling exactly where it needed to, for however long it would last.
I think I fell in love with this image.
This photograph isn't about grandeur. It's about the pause. The hush. A moment so subtle it could vanish in a blink but there it was, holding its breath.
This photograph exists in an edition of 15. Not because editions are expected, but because some moments deserve to live in only a few rooms.
