Recreating a photograph in watercolour is double the challenge of the medium itself.

I found an image of dried flower buds in monochrome, fading, almost there, hovering at the edge of recognition. I was drawn to that quality immediately. I chose Daniel Smith's Sodalite Genuine, a granulating pigment that, when used rightly, reveals more than one shade. It felt like the only honest choice for something disappearing.

It took many trials to get there. This piece taught me how to control water on paper, and more importantly, when to hold back. Patience not as a technique but as a practice, being fully present with what the paper was telling me.

Whispers began as an original, and the love it received brought it here, now available as a limited edition archival print, so it can find more walls, quietly.
