Snow did not begin as Snow.
I was exploring brush strokes and texture with a single pigment, nothing more planned than that. But Schmincke's Sodalite Genuine has a way of deciding things. Its mineral granulation settled into the paper and a winter forest appeared, quietly, at its own pace. The sky and the tree-line found each other without my help.
One pigment. What it left behind did the rest.
There is something in this piece, the silence between the marks, the white of the paper holding as much weight as the paint. A visual whisper is exactly what it is.
For a quiet reading corner that do not need to fill every quiet moment.
